THE CULTURE OF READING

As part of the continuation of the activities of the project on “The Bible and the Rights of the Child”, RELO organized two seminars to sensitize parents on the use and importance of books in relation to the rights of the child. These seminars took place on 08 May 2021 in Huye District and on 15 May 2021 in Gisagara District.

The facilitators in these seminars clearly emphasized the importance of the culture of reading books in the intellectual and moral development of the rising generations. In addition, they insisted on respect for the rights of the child, recognized not only by national and international laws but also by the Words of God. Finally, parents were urged to double their efforts to encourage their children to enjoy reading books as a source of knowledge and well-being. The participants thanked RELO for such initiative that contribute to the sustainable development of society and encouraged its leaders to continue in the same direction.
